The origin of the Pueri Cantores della Cappella Musicale Pontificia goes back to sixth century, when Pope Gregorio Magno created a school of singing children to stand side by side with the adult singers in the papal ceremonies.
Pueri Cantores della Cappella Musicale Pontificia “Sistina” All the tracks were composed by the present Director and Conductor of the Sistine Chapel Choir, Mons. Domenico Bartolucci who has ably inseerted them into the glorious traditions of the Roman polyphonists.
The hymns are sung by the Sistine Chapel choir during the Liturgical Assemblies of the Second Ecumenical Vatican Council.
Pueri Cantores della Cappella Musicale Pontificia “Sistina” These recordings were made for the motion pictures "Christ is Born" and "Christ is Risen", which were filmed in St. Peter's Cathedral and in the Sistine Chapel, through the authority of Msgr. Guido Anchini, Prefetto della Capella Sistina, of the Capella Musicali. The film is in color and depicts the story of Christ through the paintings of the great masters. The choir is under the direction of Msgr. Domenico Bartolucci.
